There is a bit of a story to this clock. The Vendor's Father knew/worked with the person who who this was presented, when the person passed away the Vendor's Father wanted the clock but it was sent to Auction with Gosport's Old Auction House 'Coat's Auctions'. However, in order that no one else would buy this the Vendor's Father removed the pendulum and key so it was not a working clock, clearly no one bid on this so he purchased it in a 'non-working' condition.
I can safely say that the pendulum is there together with the key and it is happily chiming away in our Antiques Room.
